Dear MHC Members,

I want to wish all our members the best Holiday Season. Furthermore, we the Board members wish to thank you for support that you have given from March, 2017 to present.

We have accomplished a lot in a seven-month period as a new Club in Sun City Center, and we have a lot more to achieve in 2018.

We now have 56 members in the club.  Our meetings are held on the second Friday of each month from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Capers   Room located in the Atrium Building.  Annual
Membership dues are due for 2018. Our dues are $20.00 per Household.   Please bring a check or cash to our next meeting which will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018.  Pay your dues by mailing them to Post Office Box 5193, Sun City Center, FL 33573

Nominations for new board members for the (MHC) were discussed.   Motion was made, second, and carried to keep the same board members for 2018.  Loreen Diamond was appointed Assistant Treasurer and Uta Kuhn was appointed Assistant Secretary.

Educational Component:

Terri Cardoza, President of South Bay Genealogy Society will be our guest speaker at our February general meeting.

Strawberry Festival will be held from March 1st to March 11th 2018.  For more information click www.flstrawberryfestival.com

The SCC Fun Festival will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from
9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  MHC will have a booth where purchases can be made and information will be provided.  The committee volunteers will work on obtaining donations, which will be sold and/or raffled at the event.

Governor Scott will visit SCC on January 23rd to award the Governor's Veteran's Service Award.  It is planned that registration will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 10.00 a.m.  Veterans and military personnel are strongly encouraged to RSVP on line at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r /GVSA  This RSVP is unique for the Sun City Center ceremony to better determine the number of attendees (both veterans and guests). The required registration form for the award can be down loaded at: https://www.FloridaVets.org/gv sa .  This form should be filled out and hand carried to the ceremony also bring some form to verify veteran association. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r /GVSA

MCH Recent Events

The Alzheimer’s Walk took place on October 14, 2017 at the United Methodist church. The Multi-Cultural Heritage Club pledged $840.00. We met 96% of our goal. We thank all members and volunteers, for their participation.

Meet N’ Greet was held on October 28, 2017 in the Sandpiper Room. We raffled gifts that were donated, along with a 50/50 raffle, and played Aging Bingo. This event inspired the people who attended to get to know one another. We had a whole lot of collaboration among members and future members.

HI Neighbor was held on Thursday, November 2, 2017. The Multi-Cultural Heritage Club participated in this event. The club had a table set up to display information about our club. Flyers and brochures were handed out to our neighbors and other clubs in the Sun City Center area.
